I have the luxury of making the drive to the Jonestown/Lago Vista area on occasion. It's about a 20 minute drive from my little corner of Cedar Park and the drive is one of the best in Austin in my opinion. It really is relaxing. Rolling green hills, trees as far as you can see and snippets of Lake Travis. Jonestown and Lago Vista are primarily vacation home towns, but there are signs of growth like food stores and small eateries. If you're looking for a place to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life Jonestown and Lago are highly reccomended.
The Hollows on Lake Travis is a resort style community in Jonestown that has a mixture of condos, town homes, cottages and estate homes. It's a self contained community with restaurants, beach club, marina and a slurry of other activities for residents. The Hollows also has a vacation rental program which is great for a weekend getaway and for those looking to purchase a second home and also want rental income when the unit is not in use.
